Table Talk: Conversations on Race, Inclusion, and More

In this episode, the King Center facilitates a thought-provoking Bible study on the Good Samaritan for Black History Month.

Today's episode is a recording of the King Center's Bible study, where Rev. Dameon Madison redefines violence as more than physical harm. This is the final Bible Study with the King Center for Black History Month.

In part two of our Bible Study with the King Center, project manager Angelo Martinez explores the story of Esther as an example of a non-violent witness in the scriptures.

In today's episode, we learn more about the complex Palestine/Israel situation through the perspective of Imam Sykes, a distinguished religious leader and advocate for peace. As the founder of the Islamic Society Leading American Muslims, Imam Sykes draws on his extensive background, which includes degrees in psychology, religious service, and social work. Listen in on this previously recorded webinar that included a Q&A session with a live audience.

Rabbi David Kay was ordained by the Jewish Theological Seminary of America and has served the Orlando area since 2004. He is the chair of the Interfaith Council of Central Florida. A native of Chicago, Rabbi Kay earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Ecology, Ethology, and Evolution from the University of Illinois. For today's episode we wanted to offer a listening session to the Florida United Methodist Church (and others) so that we can be better equipped when we are discussing this very complicated situation. Sit back, listen, and take time to process this information so that we can be better informed leaders for the church.
