Grieving Out Loud: Embracing Vulnerability on International Podcast Day!!

SEP 30, 202632 MIN

Description

It’s been since New Year’s Eve since I sat behind this mic. A lot has happened since then.  My dad died. My world changed. And somewhere in the middle of grief, loneliness, unanswered questions, changing friendships, and trying to figure out how the hell you’re supposed to keep living when someone who was such a huge part of your life is suddenly gone… I found myself needing this space again. So, on International Podcasting Day, I’m back where it all started: talking shit, sharing my truth, and saying the things we don’t always know how to say out loud. In this episode, I’m talking about grief in all its awkward, messy, confusing glory. About missing my best friend. About feeling let down by people I thought would show up. About the pressure to “move on” when I’m still learning how to exist in a world without my dad in it. And because September is Suicide Prevention Awareness Month, we’re also going there.  The uncomfortable conversation. The one about suicidal thoughts, loneliness, asking for help, and why sometimes “I’m here if you need anything” isn’t enough. Sometimes you have to actually be there. This episode isn't polished. It isn't tied up with a pretty little bow. And honestly? It wasn't supposed to be. It’s grief. It’s love. It’s anger. It’s loneliness. It’s dark humor. It’s Dad. It’s me trying to keep going. And maybe most importantly, it’s a reminder to call your people. Check on your people. Make time for your parents. Say the shit you think you’ll have time to say later. Because this life shit isn't guaranteed. ❤️‍🩹 Happy International Podcasting Day 💜 Episode References BetterHelp - https://www.betterhelp.com 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline - https://988lifeline.org @Kevonstage
