How should you deal with "presents" from the cat?

Description

A listener asked what to do with wild animals brought home by a hunting cat. While it might seem like they belong in food or garden waste, dead wild animals are generally not accepted because they fall under different animal by-product rules. Many councils advise placing them, bagged up, in your general waste bin instead, although it's always worth checking your local guidance. This episode of Recycled Content, is the 'Rubbish Question' from episode 98 of Talking Rubbish, which first aired on 11th June 2026. While every effort has been made to provide the most accurate information, recycling guidance changes quickly and some advice may become outdated over time. Always check with your local council for the rules that apply to recycling in your area.
