Tapped Out Podcast 09/29/2026: WWE Saudi Concerns, AEW vs WWE & Network Nostalgia

Nick and Myron are back with another packed week of pro wrestling conversation. The 2026 PWI 500 is out, but how seriously should wrestling fans really take a list trying to determine who is “best” in a predetermined business? We look at the top names and why wrestling rankings may ultimately say more about personal favorites than anything objective. Then the conversation turns much more serious. With Crown Jewel approaching and WrestleMania 43 scheduled for Saudi Arabia next year, growing uncertainty in the Middle East raises an important question: how much contingency planning does WWE need to be doing behind the scenes? AEW All Out and WWE/AAA Worlds Collide also went head-to-head in the Chicago market, moving more than 22,000 combined tickets. Did WWE’s counterprogramming strategy actually hurt AEW, or did the weekend prove there is room for both companies to succeed in the same city on the same night? Finally, we take a deep look at WWE Network nostalgia. WWE content is now scattered across Netflix, USA Network, The CW, ESPN, Peacock, Tubi, Rumble and YouTube. Fans may miss the simplicity of one app and one bill—but when you actually compare today’s media-rights economics, subscriber numbers and the cost of following everything WWE produces, would bringing back one all-in-one WWE service really be cheaper? Plus, Indy Rewind takes us through the latest from Coastal Empire Wrestling and 1FW, and Making the Drives previews another busy weekend of independent wrestling across Georgia.
