Mark Wilson: Jet’s Sound, Touring and What’s Next

Mark Wilson from Jet joins Hollie Nicole for a relaxed and hilarious conversation on day one of Rocklahoma. Ahead of Jet’s first performance at the festival, Mark talks about the band’s busy year on the road, including shows across Australia and Europe before returning to the United States. He shares what he hopes to explore during the current run, from Kansas City barbecue and New Orleans to Oklahoma’s onion burgers. The conversation also takes an unexpected trip through Rocklahoma campground culture before returning to the music. Mark reveals that Jet are working on new material and hope to release something within the next six to eight months, although he stops short of promising a timeline. He also explains how the band’s natural chemistry gives its songs a recognizable identity while leaving room to explore new sounds.
