World’s Biggest Finisher Medal, Big Prize Money & Ultra Running Controversy

On this episode of the Texas Outlaw Running Talk Show, Briston and Aaron dive into some of the biggest conversations happening across trail and ultra running. They talk about the Moab 240, Kodiak by UTMB, the continued rise of 200-mile events, and whether the growth of major race organizations is pushing trail running away from its grassroots roots. The conversation also turns to Run Rabbit Run’s massive $300,000 prize purse, what six-figure payouts could mean for professional ultra runners, and whether bigger money ultimately helps or hurts the culture of the sport. They also discuss anti-doping and drug testing in ultrarunning, weather-related race cancellations and refunds, and the continued growth of backyard and last-person-standing events. And, of course, Texas Outlaw Running shows off the new 12-inch Outlast finisher medal — because everything really is bigger in Texas. Whether you're a new or experienced runner, trail or road, 5K or Ultra Marathoner, this show is for you!
