EP318 Bible Q&A: Did Isaiah Actually Write Isaiah?

📖 About This Episode: Did Isaiah actually write the entire book bearing his name? And how could he name Cyrus—the Persian king who would help deliver God’s people—roughly 150 years before it happened? In this Bible Q&A, we examine why many scholars argue for multiple authors of Isaiah and why I find the traditional view of Isaiah’s authorship more persuasive. We consider the book’s historical setting, its literary and theological continuity, and the New Testament’s testimony. We also explore three more questions: • Did the New Testament writers take Old Testament verses out of context? • If God forgives our sins, why will Christians still face judgment? • Are we saved by the faith of Jesus Christ or by faith in Jesus Christ? What does Galatians 2:20 mean? Join us as we work through these questions with attention to Scripture, historical context, and what they mean for our faith.
