The 318 Brotherhood: Rebuilding Men, Restoring Families, Advancing God’s Kingdom

Richard Kauffman

Details

🎙️ When Abram heard that his relative had been taken captive, he called forth 318 trained men—born in his own house—and led them into battle (Genesis 14:14). That moment wasn’t just about warfare. It was about leadership, legacy, and a man’s response to the call of God. The 318 Brotherhood Podcast is a call to modern-day warriors—men who are ready to rise from the pit, lead their families with purpose, and build lives aligned with the King’s design. Hosted by Richard Kauffman, author of Ascension of the Warrior: The Master Craftsman’s Design, this podcast blends Biblical truth, raw life experience, and real transformation through a proven 8-step framework. Each episode is built for men who are tired of living numb, playing small, or pretending they’re okay. Whether you’re grieving the loss of a child, rebuilding your marriage, reclaiming your faith, or starting over in business—this brotherhood is for you. Join us each week as we rebuild men, restore families, and advance God’s Kingdom—one warrior at a time. Join the Brotherhood https://www.318men.com/318-brotherhood

How Do I Put God First When Life Keeps Pulling Me Away? Episode 144
How do you put God first when work, money, distractions, and the desire for approval keep competing for your attention? Author Drew Reitzel joins me for an honest conversation about spiritual drift, divided priorities, and his book, You Can’t Serve Two Masters: Undivided Allegiance to Christ in an Age of Cultural Compromise. Drew shares a powerful story about getting out of the ocean and discovering he had drifted a mile from where he started. His question, “How did I get here?” becomes a picture of how small choices can gradually pull us away from God. But those choices can also lead us back. In this conversation, we explore:• Recognizing what is competing with God for first place• How good things can become misplaced priorities• Following Christ when obedience feels uncomfortable• Speaking truth with love and kindness• Repentance without living in shame• Taking your next faithful step, one day at a time Whether you’ve walked with God for years, feel distant from your faith, or have questions about returning, this episode invites you to examine your priorities and begin where you are today. How Do I Deal With Grief After Losing Someone I Love? | A Father’s Story
How do you deal with grief after losing someone you love, especially when there is no answer to “why”? After learning that Bobby, a young member of our Brotherhood, passed away unexpectedly, I set aside the episode I had planned. His death brought me back to the loss of my daughter, Kelsey, and to the days when I was numb, the funeral ended, and everyone else’s life seemed to return to normal. In this episode, I share what grief felt like as a father: the loneliness, the anger at well-meant words that brought no comfort, and the need to hear from someone who understood. I also speak to men who have been taught to keep their pain to themselves, and to anyone wondering how to show up for a grieving friend. I don’t know the circumstances of Bobby’s death, and I won’t speculate. I simply want to honor him, hold his family in prayer, and make room for an honest conversation about loss. If someone you know is grieving, reach out. Use their loved one’s name. Listen to their story, and remember to check in after the first few weeks have passed. I’m Rick Kauffman, host of the 318 Brotherhood Podcast. Learn more about our work at https://318men.com. If grief has brought you to a point where you may hurt yourself, please tell someone now. How to Lead Yourself and Others: Understand People Before You Lead Them Episode 140
You can have the right message, the right mission, and the right heart... and still lose people because you don't understand how they're wired. In Episode 140 of the 318 Brotherhood Podcast, Coach Rick Kauffman introduces the power of DISC and why understanding yourself may be one of the first steps toward becoming a better leader of others. Whether you're a pastor, business owner, entrepreneur, coach, speaker, podcaster, ministry leader, or simply a man responsible for leading others, this conversation is for you. One of the biggest mistakes leaders make is assuming everyone communicates, processes information, makes decisions, and responds the same way they do. They don't. In this episode, you'll discover: • Why self-awareness matters in leadership• The basics of D, I, S, and C behavioral styles• How different personalities receive the same message differently• Why your natural strengths can also create leadership blind spots• How to adjust your communication without changing who you are• Why the way YOU want to be led may not work for someone else• How DISC connects to your Kingdom Balance Sheet• How understanding people can make you a better coach, pastor, business owner, speaker, husband, and leader I've recently completed certification as a Maxwell Leadership Certified DISC Trainer and DISC Consultant, and I'm excited to begin incorporating these tools into the leadership and personal-development work we're doing. But DISC isn't about putting people into boxes. It's about developing greater awareness of yourself and the person standing in front of you. Here's the question I want you to consider: Are you communicating with people the way THEY need to hear you, or the way YOU prefer to communicate? Don't lead everyone the way you want to be led. Learn to lead the person in front of you. 318, Brother.
