The Adventures of Philip Marlowe - "Nether Nether Land (Unedited Dramatic Portion)" (Old Time Radio, 1951)

The Adventures of Philip Marlowe presents “Nether Nether Land (Unedited Dramatic Portion),” episode 112, dated August 30, 1951. Gerald Mohr stars as Raymond Chandler’s hard-boiled private detective in this CBS series entry; the date reflects an extant unedited rehearsal recording, while episode logs list the finished broadcast on September 1. Unable to sleep, Marlowe receives a frightened late-night visitor: Carolyn Shepherd. When she disappears as abruptly as she arrived, he follows a baffling trail of conflicting clues to discover what danger may be closing in on her. This unedited dramatic portion is notable for lacking the usual completed music cues. Old Time Retro Radio presents the original broadcast with a newly produced contextual introduction, a short closing announcement, and gently cleaned/mastered audio for a more consistent listening experience.
