#408 Biblical or Cultish? Examining the "Anointed Man" Church Leadership Model

What does the Bible actually teach about church leadership—and what happens when a pastor is treated as “God’s anointed man” whose board exists to strengthen his hand rather than hold him accountable? In this episode, I respond to anepisode of the Resurge podcast hosted by pastors Josh Howerton and Josh McPherson, in which they lay out their vision for building a “wartime church.” I compare their model of leadership with the New Testament qualifications and responsibilities of elders and deacons, Jesus’ teaching on servant leadership, and the biblical warnings against domineering leadership. I also explains why I connected aspects of their leadership model with the New Apostolic Reformation and address criticism that I should have handled my concerns privately under Matthew 18. Rather than asking you take my word for it, I encourage Christians to listen to the full context, open their Bibles, and ask a crucial question: Is this how the New Testament describes leadership in Christ’s church? ----------------------------------------------------------------- This video is sponsored by: A'DEL NATURAL COSMETICS Elevate your skincare routine with A'del's toxin-free cosmetics.  Experience the difference in quality and purity.  Go to www.adelnaturalcosmetics.com for more information.  Use my code: ALISA  FOUNDATION WORLDVIEW Foundation Worldview creates curriculum series that will empower your child to think Biblically in a deceptive world.  Go to www.foundationworldview.com for more information.
