Israel: Natural vs Spiritual (Romans 9:11-INTRO), part 3/4

Description

Send us Fan Mail Treating modern geopolitics as the center of biblical prophecy can feel “pro-Bible” while quietly pulling us away from the Bible’s real center: Jesus Christ, his finished work, and the resurrection hope promised to all who believe. We make the case that Abraham’s expectation and the Christian expectation are the same, not competing storylines. The inheritance Scripture points to is ultimately heavenly, and the promised future is anchored in Christ’s kingdom and the glorification of God’s people in him.  We also confront the popular idea that there are two parallel paths in God’s plan, one for national Israel and another for the church. We argue that this “two-track” approach undermines the unity of redemption and blurs the confession that there is one Lord, one mediator, and one way of salvation. Along the way, we wrestle with how prophecy is used, including debate over Mount of Olives language, and we ask what counts as fulfillment when Christ has already come, died, risen, and ended the old covenant shadows.  Then we dig into the Mosaic covenant itself. Were Israel’s national land privileges an unconditional guarantee, or were they conditional on covenant obedience? We walk through Moses’ warnings, the reality of exile, and why AD 70 matters for understanding the end of Israel’s former national-theocratic structure. Most importantly, we clarify the good news: God’s mercy remains open to Jewish people and Gentiles alike through repentance and faith, because the promises to Abraham are fulfilled in the promised Seed, Jesus Christ.
