A rebuilt temple, a red heifer, and a future land promise may sound like “serious prophecy talk” but what if it’s actually pulling Christians away from what the Bible already says God finished? We take on dispensationalism head-on and ask why so many believers are eager to celebrate an earthly project that would not advance the gospel. If your hope is glued to modern political Israel, headlines, and end times timelines, we think it’s time to re-check the text and re-center your faith on Christ.
We walk carefully through key passages that repeatedly say God kept his word to Israel in history. Joshua 21:43-45 is the anchor: the Lord gave Israel all the land he swore to give, and not one promise failed. We then layer in Joshua 23, 1 Kings 8:56, and Nehemiah 9 to show the same consistent claim of fulfillment. From there, the conversation turns to covenant theology, the spiritual seed of Abraham, and the New Testament’s insistence that God’s people are one family in Christ, not two separate tracks with different destinies.
Galatians 4 pushes the discussion into the contrast between the earthly Jerusalem and the Jerusalem above, and we talk about what it means to belong to a kingdom that cannot be reduced to geography. We also connect Zion and the sure mercies of David to Acts 13 and Isaiah 55, arguing that the Davidic covenant is fulfilled through Christ’s resurrection and present reign. If Jesus is ruling now, we ask, why would we expect him to trade that glory for an earthly political throne?
