Others can become traditions simply for tradition’s sake—something Jesus addresses directly in Mark 7. We also continue our journey through Dan’s 16 Principles of Mark, along with the drawings that accompany them, and discuss an important question for Christians and the church today: Have any of our traditions started to overshadow their original purpose—or even the purpose of Scripture itself? Traditions can help us remember, worship, and grow, but we need to make sure the tradition never becomes more important than the reason behind it.
