Jon Francois sits down with Kiko Zang, founder and CEO of Chomp, for a fascinating conversation about belonging, cultural identity, social connection, entrepreneurship, and the difference between what people privately believe and what they think everyone else believes. Kiko shares her experiences growing up between China, New Zealand, the United States, and Asia, and how feeling different and learning to fit into different cultures ultimately influenced the creation of Chomp. They explore how the app uses anonymous questions and collective responses to explore public opinion, private opinions, perception, and the “wisdom of the crowd.” The conversation also dives into loneliness versus being alone, internet culture, social media, dating, technology, cultural differences, Grey’s Anatomy, Saturday Night Live, comedy, and how television and pop culture can shape the way we understand society. If you enjoy conversations about technology, startups, social media, culture, identity, pop culture, and the fascinating ways people think, this episode of The Delicious Culture with Jon Francois is for you.
