We Are All Just Costumes Death Wears For A Season. They came to the Black Hills to bury their dead and make a last stand — and the desperate, the faithful, and the merely doomed came with them, thousands strong, turning a funeral into a final gesture. “Retribution” is the firestorm the whole season has been driving toward: betrayal in the dark, sacrifice in the open, and a reckoning between hunter and hunted that doesn’t go the way anyone planned. What, exactly, does it take to kill a god? You won't soon forget how this one turns out. "Dreaming Darkly" s6, e6 | Party At The World's End | Mythpunk Serialized Fiction
We Are All Just Costumes Death Wears For A Season. In a cold interrogation room, Agent Trevino finally has one of them across the table — and she could not be less afraid. Lilith answers his questions about plans and targets with stories about ant colonies and reincarnation and slowly turns the interrogation into something he never authorized and can't control. “Dreaming Darkly” is the quiet center of the season: two people circling the same truth from opposite sides. A meditation on conscience, complicity, and the terrible logic of making a thing “look like a war.” Audio Edition Credits This podcast is also available on Spotify, Apple, YouTube, PodBean, Podchaser, iHeartRadio, Amazon Music, and of course RSS. “Tales From When I Had A Face” (Seasons 1-4) was written by James Curcio, and edited by Brian Johnson. “Party At The World’s End” (Seasons 5-6) was written by James Curcio, with special thanks to JF Stackhouse and Nate Sampsel for collaboration on earlier editions. "Rushmore" s6, e5 | Party At The World's End | Mythpunk Serialized Fiction
We Are All Just Costumes Death Wears For A Season. A heartbroken hitchhiker named Dennis just wanted a ride to Rapid City. What he gets is a stolen car and a one-way trip to the strangest gathering in America: Babylon, playing beneath the stone faces of four dead presidents, where Burning Man seems to have founded its own nomad nation at the foot of Mount Rushmore. “Rushmore” brings two opposing forces into the same valley at last, and something is about to break. Mythology and manifest destiny collide on profaned, once sacred ground. "The Birth of the Syndicate" s6, e4 | Party At The World's End | Mythpunk Fiction Podcast
We Are All Just Costumes Death Wears For A Season. Rewind to 2007 — before the band, before the bus, before the bodies. A burned-out corporate infiltrator called Bradley the Buyer spends his days gaming the stock of the pharmaceutical giant that employs him, and his nights wondering why the whole world feels so deeply, structurally wrong. The answer arrives in a boardroom — and it’s a great deal stranger than he bargained for. “Birth of the Syndicate” is the origin story of the conspiracy at the heart of this story: one man’s terrible, brilliant idea that corporations are bodies, that bodies get cancer, and that a few well-placed cells can bring a giant to its knees. This is where the long con began — and where the “gods” get their funding. "Stray Bullets" s6, e3 | Party At The World's End | Mythpunk Fiction Podcast
We Are All Just Costumes Death Wears For A Season. Not everyone riding with Babylon signed up for a religion. Some are just kids who ran out of other options, traveling in packs across a country that already failed them, doing what they have to. One of them is beginning to understand exactly what kind of thing she’s become part of — and quietly looking for the exit. When Lilith and Jesus peel off for a midnight joyride, a routine stop at a roadside diner turns on a single ugly word. “Stray Bullets” is about how violence finds the people who go looking for it and the people who don't — and how one tired federal agent learns that the cleanest way to hunt a movement is to invent the war you need to justify the hunt. Their gonzo roadtrip gets decidedly darker.
