Description
You made the decision. You set the boundary. You said no.
Then your partner got upset—and suddenly you're explaining, backpedaling, apologizing, or wondering if you were wrong in the first place.
This week, we're taking our Microdose of Courage onto the yoga mat.
THE SQUEEZE
What if the hardest part of keeping a promise to yourself isn't making the decision?
It's staying with yourself when someone you love doesn't like it.
THE JUICE
Today, I'm showing you what your yoga practice can teach you about staying with a decision when someone else's discomfort makes you want to abandon it.
Because your relationship has Warrior II moments.
Your body gets uncomfortable. Your brain wants out. And your instinct is to do whatever will make that discomfort disappear.
But yoga gives us a safe place to practice something different: noticing the discomfort, breathing, creating space, and deciding whether something is actually wrong—or simply uncomfortable.
And that's the practice we're taking off the mat.
Your partner's disappointment doesn't automatically mean your decision was wrong.
YOUR MICRODOSE OF COURAGE
Keep one small promise to yourself—even if someone you love doesn't like it.
When the discomfort comes:
Take a breath.
Feel your feet.
Unclench your jaw.
Notice where you're gripping.
Then ask yourself:
Do I actually want to change my decision—or am I just trying to make this discomfort go away?
And then choose.
The goal isn't to never change your mind.
It's to stop automatically abandoning yourself just because someone else is unhappy.
KEEP THE CONVERSATION GOING
If this gave you something to work on this week, join my newsletter through the link in the show notes.
That's where we take these conversations a little deeper—relationships, boundaries, self-trust, and what it actually looks like to choose yourself when someone you love isn't happy about it.
