Description
We're bringing back one of our conversations with Emily Parker from Heal the Bay, and there's a special reason we're revisiting it this Halloween!
Heal the Bay is once again partnering with Lexy for The Ultimate Halloween Swap, helping give old Halloween costumes a second life while keeping unnecessary waste out of landfills.
In this encore episode of The Lexy Show, Lexy sits down with Emily Parker, Senior Marine Scientist and Circular Economy Fellow at Heal the Bay, who also leads the organization's work with the LA2028 Olympics Sustainability Committee.
Emily shares what she's learned from years of protecting Southern California's coastlines, why plastic pollution is so difficult to tackle, and what it takes to create a circular economy where materials are reused instead of thrown away.
And now, you can put some of those ideas into action!
As part of The Ultimate Halloween Swap, Heal the Bay Aquarium is hosting a costume donation and swap box where families can drop off gently used Halloween costumes or pick up a new-to-you one. It's completely free, and you don't have to donate a costume to take one home.
Find the swap box:
