Living Out the Fear of God - #290

If our view of God is too small, our response to Him will be too small. If we think of God primarily in terms of what He can do for us, we'll approach Him primarily for what we can get from Him. But when we begin seeing Him as Scripture reveals Him—as holy, sovereign, majestic, all-powerful, all-knowing, perfectly righteous, infinitely wise, and absolutely supreme—something begins changing inside us. We realize...He's God. And we're not. That changes everything. It means God doesn't exist to fit into our plans. We exist for His purposes. God doesn't need to adjust His will to accommodate ours.
