Description
We're starting Season 3 with something a little different, something that goes to the very heart of Children's Book Project.
This year we're the chosen charity of the global communications giant M+C Saatchi. To help amplify our mission to eradicate book poverty in children, they were fantastic enough to organise a superb seminar, hosted by the inimitable Alastair Campbell.
It was too good to keep private. So we're sharing it with you.
From Book Poverty to Possibility: Mobilising Culture, Business and Government to Change Children's Futures.
September 24th at M+C Saatchi, London.
With thanks to all our spectacular contributors.
Alastair Campbell - chair. Writer, podcaster, communicator, author and strategist. (Listen out for Alastair's own episode, coming soon!)
Liberty Venn - Founder of Children's Book Project
James Barge - Director of Corporate Affairs and Community Relations at Asda
Alison David - Consumer Insight Director at Harper Collins
David Hayman - Managing Director of the National Year of Reading
Usually, guests select at least three children's books that have been powerful enough to shape their lives, as shared with our host Rachel Parris (BAFTA-nominated comedian, actor, author).
Delivering not quite the soundtrack of their lives, but the literary yarns that knit it together. A kind of "desert-island-children's-book" show.
Three books:
Childhood favourite - the book that shaped who they are today, a little window into their childhood
Shared book - an important book, read with someone significant today
Gift to the future - a title to donate to The Children's Book Project, inspiring a future generation
Brought to you by the Children's Book Project - the Queen's Award-winning national charity that takes your pre-loved, unwanted children’s books and gives them to families with few, if any, of their own.
Just by listening, you help us achieve our goal - to eliminate book poverty in children.
