709: The Intentional Library: Hidden Christmas

Send us Fan Mail Hidden Christmas by Tim Keller is a short, insightful book that explores the deeper meaning of Christmas and explains how the birth of Jesus reveals God's grace, love, and plan to save humanity. Keller challenges readers to look beyond the familiar traditions, sentimental stories, and cultural celebrations of Christmas to understand the profound truth of the incarnation: God came into the world as a human being to rescue sinners and restore our relationship with Him. The book highlights several key themes: The unexpected nature of Christmas: Jesus' birth was surprising and often misunderstood, challenging people's expectations of what God would do. The grace of God: Christmas reminds us that salvation is not something we earn through good behavior but something God graciously provides through Jesus. The meaning of the incarnation: Jesus became human to identify with us, live among us, and ultimately die for our sins. The reversal of human expectations: God's kingdom operates differently from the world's systems of power, status, and success. Jesus came in humility rather than earthly grandeur. The true purpose of Christmas: The birth of Christ points toward the cross and resurrection, revealing that the manger is part of God's larger plan of redemption. Christmas is not merely the story of a baby being born; it is the story of God entering our broken world to accomplish what we could never accomplish for ourselves.  Learn more about The Pursuit of Manliness: https://www.thepursuitofmanliness.com/  Join The Herd:  https://www.thepursuitofmanliness.com/join-the-herd Secure your spot for Tribe XIX: https://www.thepursuitofmanliness.com/gear/p/tribe-xix Support the show
