Can Psychedelics Open a Door to the Demonic? Shawn Ryan’s Story

Shawn Ryan turned to psychedelics to quiet what the war left behind. He came back from his last trip, on his own account, describing hell, then months of spiritual oppression and exorcism prayers from two priests. ABOUT THE EPISODE: For years the former Navy SEAL, CIA contractor, and host of one of the most-watched podcasts in the U.S., told his audience that psychedelic therapy helped him with PTSD and addiction. His most recent experience changed his mind. He describes months of nightmares, unexplained disturbances, and a series of exorcism prayers that still hasn’t settled the matter. Josh and Michael will review his story, the treatment of PTSD with psychedelics and more. 0:00 – Introduction 4:46 – Shawn Ryan’s Ibogaine Experience 7:27 – Biblical Ethics of Medicine 14:34 – Five-Point Medical Framework 23:02 – Spiritual Dangers of Psychedelics 29:11 – Non-Hallucinogenic Ibogaine Research 40:10 – Psychedelics as Sorcery 52:56 – Ibogaine Trip to Hell 1:04:48 – Catholic Exorcism Aftermath 1:11:20 – Protestant Deliverance Ministry 1:17:47 – Lifting the Veil 1:19:43 – Scripture Over Experience Subscribe to The Remnant Radio newsletter and receive our FREE introduction to spiritual gifts eBook.
