Nephilim, Giants, and Demons: Why Jesus Went Where Joshua Didn’t | BLK SHP Scott

Jesus crossed the Sea of Galilee, freed one man from a legion of demons, then sailed straight back (Mark 5:1-21). Why that shore? Scott of BLK SHP Bible Talk suggests an answer, and it starts fourteen centuries earlier with Joshua. God told Joshua the conquest of Canaan wasn’t finished and said, “I myself will drive them out” (Joshua 13:6). Scott’s argument is that Jesus took that personally. Follow where he casts out demons, he says, and you’re tracing the ground Israel never cleared. IN THIS EPISODE: -What God says to Joshua about the unfinished conquest, and why Scott hears a promise in it -Why “Galilee of the nations” (Isaiah 9:1) carries more weight in a Deuteronomy 32 worldview -Capernaum, the far side of the lake, and the road toward Sidon: three exorcisms and what Scott sees connecting them -Giants, Nephilim, and Scott’s view of where some demons come from -The strong man of Matthew 12:29, and how Scott’s reading differs from the way John Wimber preached it -Josh’s question: pattern or coincidence? 0:00 – Introduction 0:36 – Meet BLK SHP Scott 7:25 – Joshua's Unfinished Conquest 11:44 – Jesus, the Greater Joshua 15:06 – Galilee of the Nations 19:14 – Nephilim Giants in Canaan 25:35 – Coincidence or Intentional Pattern? 31:17 – Gerasene Demoniac in Bashan 35:21 – Syrophoenician Woman at Sidon 44:54 – Are Demons Dead Nephilim? 49:38 – No Exorcisms in Judea 56:45 – BLK SHP Scott Resources ABOUT THE GUEST: SUBSTACK: https://blkshpbible.substack.com/ BOOK: Dynasty of Slaves: Uncovering the Archeological Record of Israel in Egypt https://www.amazon.com/Dynasty-Slaves-Uncovering-Archeological-Record/dp/B0H1JTDWSW/ref=tmm_pap_swatch_0 Subscribe to The Remnant Radio newsletter and receive our FREE introduction to spiritual gifts eBook.
