The Shadow - "Appointment with Death" (Old Time Radio)

The Shadow presents “Appointment with Death,” originally broadcast on March 12, 1939, as episode 163 of the Mutual Broadcasting System series. This Blue Coal-sponsored installment stars Bill Johnstone as Lamont Cranston/The Shadow and Agnes Moorehead as Margot Lane. Fresh from prison, Blacky Carmichael launches a criminal campaign meant to lure The Shadow into a deadly confrontation at an isolated island on White Lake. As Lamont Cranston and Margot Lane investigate, the unseen crime-fighter faces a trap designed to expose even an invisible adversary. The Shadow presents the original broadcast with a newly produced contextual introduction, a short closing announcement, and gently cleaned/mastered audio for a more consistent listening experience.
