The Shadow - "The Isle of the Living Dead" (Old Time Radio)

The Shadow presents “The Isle of the Living Dead,” originally broadcast October 13, 1940. In this 197th episode of the Mutual Broadcasting System series, sponsored by Blue Coal, Bill Johnstone stars as Lamont Cranston/The Shadow, with Marjorie Anderson as Margo Lane. The script was written by Jerry Devine. When Betty Fulton asks for help finding her missing fiancé, Lamont and Margo travel through a storm to the tropical island of St. Jude. Tales of zombies and the forbidding hilltop plantation of Mrs. Nesbitt lead the Shadow into a dangerous mystery where island folklore may conceal a very human threat. The Shadow presents the original broadcast with a newly produced contextual introduction, a short closing announcement, and gently cleaned/mastered audio for a more consistent listening experience.
