Live Class: Beginner's Guide to Soloing- The ESSENTIALS

Send Steve a Text Message Practice vs. Playing: Turning Scales Into Music Knowing a scale is one thing. Turning it into music is something else entirely. In this discussion, Steve breaks down the difference between practicing the guitar and actually playing/improvising, with a focus on helping developing players move beyond simply running scale patterns. Topics include visualization, metronome practice, connecting scale positions, meandering, groove, eighth-note phrasing, dynamics, space, articulation, and gradually introducing sixteenth notes. The goal is simple: learn how to take the scales you already know and start making them sound musical.
