Satan's Throne: The Altar That Launched Hitler and the Holocaust

Something went viral in early September. Rabbi Jonathan Cahn was sitting on American Airlines Flight 618 when the passenger next to him, a 67-year-old real estate executive, suddenly snapped, physically attacked Cahn, declared he was going to kill everyone on the plane, and ended up duct-taped to his seat. The headlines called it a strange outburst. The real story runs much deeper.Cahn had just released The Altar of Pergamon, a book that exposes an ancient object long linked in Scripture to the literal throne of Satan. In Revelation 2:13, Jesus tells the church at Pergamon: "I know where you dwell, where the throne of Satan is." That altar, the largest the Greeks ever built, fell into ruins and lay buried for nearly two thousand years. When German archaeologists unearthed it in the 1870s and shipped it to Berlin, something shifted in the world.Germany came into being as a nation in 1871, the same year the altar arrived. Anti-Semitism as a named movement was born in Germany at the same moment. The swastika was rediscovered in the same region at the same time. The altar was fully reassembled in Berlin in 1889, the same year Adolf Hitler was born. When the altar was unveiled to the public in 1930, it happened on Yom Kippur. Within weeks, the Nazi Party went from 2% of the German vote to the second-largest party in the country.Hitler's Nuremberg rally platform, from which he addressed millions, was confirmed by architect Albert Speer to be a deliberate recreation of the Altar of Pergamon. And the Greek word for burnt offering, the word used to name that altar, is the root from which Holocaust derives.
