Why Gen Z Love the Star Wars Prequels

Young men today find the state of their nations intolerable, and just want to use power and competence to fix things. But, like the Jedi Order and the Galactic Senate, every liberal institution conspires to constrain their potential. Those same institutions are impotent to solve them, and spend their time tone policing the young men instead. Anakin is a sensitive young man, an autistic savant, who has everything taken from him by alien savages. His natural desires for fraternity, a family, and recognition for service to his nation is proscribed by a sclerotic political order that refuses to acknowledge and solve problems. Zoomer men want the same things, but are told this is toxic, offensive to minorities, and oppressive for women, and that they can't have it. So they want to take power away from these institutions and use it for their interests. When Anakin responds to Padmé's warning, “That sounds an awful lot like a dictatorship,” with, “Well, if it works,” they agree. For Zoomers, the tragedy is not that Anakin was corrupted by Palpatine and became Darth Vader, but that he failed and lost everything in pursuit of things they want and can’t have too.
