Jackie Kay is a poet, writer, and former Makar: The National Poet for Scotland. I first heard Jackie on my own favourite podcast Desert Island Discs, which lead me to her own works: Trumpet, the story of a mixed race trans musician; and her wonderful memoir Red Dust Road.
