It's like a movie script. Andrew Infantino was taking a holiday to the Dominican Republic from chilly Montreal in early 2020, where he met the lovely Melody Guzman. The rest, as they say, his history. Andrew, who works remotely in digital marketing, moved down to the D.R. and eventually the two moved to Spain - first Madrid, and now, Barcelona. Along the way, they documented their many travels on their blog, Travel Your Best. As the years went by, the passport stamps and blog entries grew. Recent trips have included exotic locales like Madagascar, Indonesia, Morocco, Vietnam, and many more. The couple have plans to get married in the next year and eventually start a family. Until then, their relationship is a testament to what love, (and a remote income stream) can do! There are many ways people find their way into show business. Comedian Jeff Capri seemed to be destined for the footlights. As the son of legendary Catskills comic Dick Capri, Jeff would join his father onstage as young as ten years old. But his parents split early in Jeff's life, and while his Dad stayed in the New York area, Jeff grew up in suburban Orange County, California, about an hour from Hollywood. Splitting his time between coasts meant Jeff was no stranger to airports and travel. As fate would have it, Jeff ended up in the comedy clubs touring the country, then began traveling internationally performing for the troops. For the last few years, he's done the bulk of his performing on cruise ships. We were lucky enough to catch Jeff a day before he left for Hawaii to meet yet another ship and bring the laughs. From Day One, Ian Beresford knew that borders were meant to cross. Ian hails from Berwick-Upon-Tweed, the northernmost city in England, just across the Scotland border. The Northumberland town has changed hands between England and Scotland multiple times over centuries, resulting in a hybrid culture (and accent!) As an adult, Ian consistently crossed borders for work and pleasure. He's made over 20 visits to the US, toured extensively throughout Europe, and even made it Down Under to Australia and New Zealand. Now retired and volunteering at his local dog shelter, Ian continues to travel, and recently returned from a cruise around Spain. Never underestimate the power of travel as a force for personal change. Change is something that Chloe Kelly finds quite familiar. Growing up in England, Chloe never felt completely comfortable, no matter how many different careers, homes, or relationships she tried on for size- a situation that led down the dark path of addiction and depression. It wasn’t until she made the decision at 45 to transition to female, that Chloe finally began to see light at the end of the tunnel. And with her rebirth, she decided that travel was going to play a major role. She left a 25-year corporate career and started traveling solo. Over the last few years, she’s traveled throughout Europe, Central Asia, and beyond. She currently lives in Buenos Aires while writing her travel memoir. We chat about why travel became so important to her after transitioning, what it’s like traveling as a trans woman, and the places and experiences that have affected her the most. It's long been a rite of passage for young people to take their first trip abroad without their parents. While Nicolas Poravas had visited Italy before with his mother, the 20-year-old recently returned from nearly two months in Europe touring with friends before spreading his wings solo.
