Alonzo Menifield, Michael Aswell Jr., Rosas-Barcelos recap

Jim Norton and Matt Serra recap UFC Fight Night: Rosas Jr. vs. Barcelos while welcoming two fighters fresh off wins at UFC 331 in Los Angeles. First, 14th-ranked light heavyweight Alonzo Menifield makes his UFC Unfiltered debut following his split decision win over Iwo Baraniewski. Menifield talks about fighting through a gruesome broken thumb, digging deep through adversity, working with Pat Barry, and how his football background eventually led him into MMA. After reacting to the ending of Raul Rosas Jr. vs. Raoni Barcelos and several other results from Saturday’s card, Jim and Matt are joined by featherweight Michael Aswell Jr. Fresh off his 26th birthday and a much-needed split decision win over JooSang Yoo, Aswell reflects on snapping his two-fight skid, the nerves of hearing the scorecards, and what it meant to win on the same UFC 331 card as close friend and training partner Joshua Van. Jim and Matt close the show with more takeaways from the weekend’s fights, including big nights for Montel Jackson, Brady Hiestand, Christian Edwards and the TUF 34 winners.
