Ateba Gautier, Natalia Silva, UFC 332 picks

Jim Norton and Matt Serra get ready for UFC 332 with a pair of main-card fighters: returning middleweight Ateba Gautier and first-time guest Natalia Silva. First, Gautier joins the show ahead of his matchup with Roman Kopylov and reveals a few unexpected layers outside the cage. If you heard a middleweight knockout artist say he was a My Little Pony fan, a physics lover and a geology major, which one would you not believe? In Gautier’s case, two of those are true — and you have to hear him explain it for yourself. He also talks about his natural power, preparing for Kopylov’s durability, training in Las Vegas and continuing to evolve from fight to fight. Then, Jim and Matt make some UFC 332 picks before welcoming #1 women’s flyweight Natalia Silva and translator Fabiano Buskei to the show. Silva reflects on starting Taekwondo through a social program in Brazil, pushing through early MMA losses and injuries, and finally reaching Saturday’s vacant title fight against Wang Cong. Silva also talks about preparing for five rounds, what she expects from Wang’s striking, and what it means to represent the small Brazilian town of Pingo-d’Água on a world championship stage before Jim and Matt wrap up with final thoughts and picks for Saturday’s card.
