Description

Welcome to Voices of Life with Pastor David — your weekly journey through history, faith, and the stories that still shape our world today. In this October 23 episode, we explore three powerful moments across American history and Christian heritage. Each one reveals something essential about courage, sacrifice, and spiritual leadership.🇺🇸 1. The 1915 Women’s Suffrage Parade — When 33,000 Voices Filled Fifth AvenueOn October 23, 1915, more than 33,000 marchers took over New York City demanding women’s right to vote. Their courage helped pave the way for the Nineteenth Amendment, ratified in 1920 — with Tennessee casting the decisive vote. This moment reminds us that democracy expands when ordinary citizens refuse to be silent.🇺🇸 2. The 1983 Beirut Barracks Bombing — The Marine Corps’ Deadliest Day Since WWIIAt 6:22 a.m., a suicide bomber drove an explosives‑laden truck into the U.S. Marine barracks in Beirut, killing 241 American service members. A second bombing killed 58 French paratroopers. The Marines were serving as peacekeepers in Lebanon’s civil war — not combatants — yet they paid the ultimate price.Hezbollah and RadicalizationThe attack was carried out by Hezbollah, a violent extremist organization responsible for severe harm, loss of life, and human rights violations. Supported by Iran-backed networks, Hezbollah has grown into one of the most powerful militant groups in the Middle East.Radical Islamist extremist ideology continues to influence millions worldwide, and these groups commit violence in the name of Islam, creating the global perception that Islam is associated with terrorism rather than peaceful religious practice. This episode confronts that reality directly and responsibly.🌍 3. James of Jerusalem — A Pillar of the Early Christian ChurchJames the Just, traditionally identified as the brother of Jesus, played a defining role in the earliest Christian community. At the Jerusalem Council (Acts 15), James helped resolve the debate over whether Gentile believers must follow the Mosaic Law — shaping Christianity’s identity and unity. His teachings remind us that faith must be lived out: “Faith, if it hath not works, is dead…” (James 2:17)From the marchers on Fifth Avenue… To the Marines who “came in peace”… To James of Jerusalem guiding the earliest believers… Each story calls us to live with conviction, compassion, and clarity.🙏 If today’s episode encouraged you…Your support helps us continue sharing hope, truth, and life with listeners around the world.⭐ Leave a ReviewYour feedback helps others discover the Voices of Life Podcast.Share your review here:https://rss.com/podcasts/voicesoflife/Explore more about Voices of Life.❤️ Support the MinistryIf you feel led to support the work of The Church For Life and the Voices of Life Podcast, you can give through:Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/TheChurchForLifeLearn about our Patreon mission.PayPal Charitable Giving: https://www.paypal.com/donate/?hosted_button_id=XC5FZBL5KF8NQ&source=qr Support us through PayPal Giving.Thank you for standing with us.Your prayers, your encouragement, and your generosity make a real difference.
