The Math Formula That Separates Growth From Scaling

Are you growing your franchise, or are you actually scaling it? There is a massive difference. Growth is simply addition (5+5=10), but true scaling is multiplication (5x5=25). If your business is relying on pure grit and late nights instead of documented systems, you are likely stuck in constant chaos. In this episode of Walking with Walfinch, we sit down with Diane Davis, Chief Growth Officer at Franchise Filming. Diane shares how implementing EOS (the Entrepreneurial Operating System) transformed a chaotic single business into a highly structured 160-location network. We break down exactly how to stop fighting daily fires, why founders desperately need an integrator, and why relying on your best employee instead of a system is a massive risk to your business. What we cover in this episode:0:00 - Intro: Diane Davis on being a "dream maker" in franchising2:40 - Why your franchise must become a system of systems5:30 - What is EOS and how does it fix business chaos?8:35 - Do you need to hire a Fractional Integrator?10:50 - Setting 10-year targets so your team stops flailing14:15 - How systems help franchisees work on the business17:45 - Key person risk: The danger of relying on people over systems19:25 - The math formula: Growth (addition) vs Scaling (multiplication)About Walfinch:Walfinch is a national home care franchise network based in the UK.
