Can Comedy Save Lives? Tommy North on Stand-Up and Mental Health

Tommy North is a Warrington-based comedian and former manager at the suicide prevention charity Papyrus. Originally inspired during COVID-19 lockdowns, he has spent the last couple of years regularly performing stand-up across the Northwest comedy circuit. His unique comedic approach centers on suicide prevention, using humour and everyday experiences to reduce stigma, promote open dialogue, and share essential safety messages. He recently won the best comedian gong at the Bay Fringe Festival for his show, Standup to Suicide. He's now aiming to expand his comedy career by touring and offering corporate wellbeing workshops that combine mental health awareness with comedy writing.
