We’re headed to Hillman, Ladies and Gents, but not the Hillman of today. We’re talking about the classic, culturally impactful, and highly celebrated Hillman from the late 1980s! That’s right, for Episode 224, we’re discussing A Different World ahead of the new series coming to Netflix. We brought in our sister Helaine from Talkin Ish: A Podcast Amongst Friends and our brother Austin to dive into the cultural importance of the series, the characters, the topics it tackled, and even put our guests to the test with a little “Make Ya Case.” We agree on some things, disagree on plenty of others, but at the end of the day, we’re all from A Different World and we have a genuine appreciation for a series that not only reflected the Black college experience but also highlighted the importance of community, culture, and representation. But of course, we still had to answer the most important question… Was It Good Though?
