Description
This week's episode didn't go as planned. My brother was set to join me to talk about addiction, accountability, and sobriety, a topic he actually suggested, but he couldn't make it, so I recorded solo instead. This is not the planned or final version of the episode, but more an intro into what got me here in relation to the episode itself. An honest look at what it's actually been like to watch people I love go through addiction and recovery. I talk about the guilt of judging people I care about, what it means to love someone "from a distance" when you don't know how to help, and navigating the feeling of losing that sense of closeness when someone you care about is in throes of itThis is a behind-the-scenes version of an episode that's still coming, the full episode with my brother will be released once we reschedule. Consider this the setup: why this topic matters to me, and what I hope the full conversation offers anyone navigating addiction in their own life.
