An Angel, a Prison Break, and the Gospel Mission | Acts 12–13

AUG 26, 202651 MIN

Description

Acts 12–13 takes us from Peter’s miraculous prison escape to the beginning of Paul and Barnabas’ missionary work. Peter is heavily guarded and facing execution when an angel leads him out of prison. Meanwhile, the church is gathered together in fervent prayer for him. Herod’s story comes to an abrupt end, but the Word of God continues to increase and multiply. Then in Acts 13, the Holy Spirit sets apart Barnabas and Saul and sends them out. Along the way, Paul confronts Elymas the magician, preaches Jesus in the synagogue, and sees the gospel begin spreading throughout the region. Adam and Kevin also discuss persistent prayer, opposition to the gospel, the danger of putting national identity above our identity in Christ, and what it means for Christians to remember where our true citizenship lies.
