Have You Forgotten Who You Really Are?

Have you ever had one of those moments when you suddenly remember something about yourself that you didn't even realize you'd forgotten? I've been thinking about this a lot lately. It's so easy to get wrapped up in our roles, responsibilities, and the endless to-do lists of being human. Before we know it, we're so busy playing our parts that we forget there's a whole magnificent soul underneath the costume. That's exactly what came alive for me in this week's conversation with Irish mystic Fr. Seán ÓLaoire. Seán is an 80-year-young spiritual teacher, psychotherapist, and former Catholic priest whose journey has taken him from ancient Celtic wisdom to 14 years in Africa, past-life exploration, and ultimately, finding freedom outside the institution he once served. And oh my goodness, what a storyteller… He describes us as spirits in spacesuits. LOVE that. Underneath it all, we're so much more than we can see. We explored reincarnation, soulmates, Mary Magdalene, Christ consciousness, and what it really means to remember our divine nature. And he sings a soul-stirring, ancient Gaelic hymn near the end.
