108: I Quit Dating - and I’ve Never Felt More Free

What if giving up on dating isn’t giving up at all? For almost two years, I stayed open. I met men online and in person. I was specific about what I wanted. I worked on myself, held my standards, vetted men, and continued building a full life of my own. And not one man made it to the first date. Then one interaction this weekend finally clarified something that had been building in me for a long time: I don’t want to date anymore. Not because I’m taking a break. Not because I need more time to heal. Not because I’m waiting for God, the universe, or a dating app to deliver “the right one.” I simply don’t want a man badly enough to keep trading my time, energy and peace for the possibility of finding one. And the relief I felt when I finally admitted that surprised even me. In this episode, I’m talking about the entitlement that pushed me over the edge, why interest is not intention, the freedom of knowing my answer to a date is simply no, and why some of the most surprising pushback to my decision came from other women. Because being single is not a problem that needs to be solved. Single on Purpose is no longer my waiting room for a relationship. This is the life I choose. My weekends belong to me. My energy belongs to me. My peace belongs to me. And the biggest realization of all? The life I thought I was searching for was the life I was already living.
