Episode 125: The Bye Bye Man featuring Lucy Valentine

Lucy Valentine, host of the podcasts Boonta Vista and Savant Garde, is with us and they’re starting off our annual spooktacular with something that we hesitate to mention… it’s The Bye Bye Man (2017). We hesitate to mention the name of this strangely titled horror film simply because it’s a scenario where you shouldn’t say or think the villain’s name. If you do, you’ll get real jealous of your girlfriend and maybe catch a fever. Eventually, it’s death, but don’t tell that to Carrie-Ann Moss or Faye Dunaway, who can’t save this stinker. It may be poorly made, acted and executed, but it’s got such a silly premise and is so genuinely bizarre there we’re getting on the train that mysteriously, and inexplicably keeps appearing in the film. It’s a movie that begs discussion, no matter how much the onscreen characters are telling us not to. You need to hear about this one, so tune in!
