Leather, drag, porn, politics and a bit of daddy energy — this week, Hide and Seek gets a taste of Honey, and it was sweet! Jon Kok and Joenas Galinato are joined by drag artist, DJ, activist, adult content creator and reigning International Mr. Leather 2026, Honey Davenport. Honey made history earlier this year when they took home leather’s most iconic international title, becoming the first competitor from RuPaul’s Drag Race to be crowned International Mr. Leather. But Honey’s story is much bigger than a single sash. In this episode, Honey talks about growing from the New York drag scene into the House of Davenport, how drag helped them understand their gender, and why performance, activism and community have always been part of the same deliciously sticky package. We get into their journey through leather, from frozen margaritas near Rawhide to the New York City Eagle, Palm Springs Leather, Mr. Dick’s, and eventually IML itself. Honey reflects on finding their tribe, being a Black non-binary titleholder, and what it means to create belonging in leather and queer spaces rather than just saying the word “inclusive” and hoping for the best. And because this is Hide and Seek, we do not stop at the safe-for-work version of leather. Honey talks openly about sexual liberation, kink, getting thrown out of leather bars, adult content creation, studio porn with Treasure Island and Nasty Daddy, fisting, leather as fetish, and why their gear is not really gear until it has been played in. We also look at leather’s history of care, HIV activism and community education, including Honey’s involvement with the Stone That Remembers campaign at the National AIDS Memorial Grove, and why the dads, daddies, elders and mentors in our communities need to start dadding again. From drag to daddy, from pageants to dick and social justice, Honey Davenport is not here to stay in one lane — and thank goodness for that. Body image can get into your head, your sex life, your relationships, your career, your confidence, your clothes, your photos, your apps, and the way you move through the world. This week on Hide and Seek, Jon and Joenas are joined by singer-songwriter and friend of JOY Greg Gould, and Justin Mark — Mr VicBears 2026 — for a candid conversation about fatphobia, body dysmorphia and what it means to feel sexy in a world that keeps trying to turn bigger bodies into a “before” photo. Greg shares the real comments people have made about his body across his career, from being told he would be more successful if he lost weight, to being asked about gastric surgery at his own album launch. Justin talks about fat-shaming on apps, bear spaces, body hierarchy, and the long work of learning to see himself as desirable. Together, they unpack the difference between concern and cruelty, why “just being honest” is often anything but, how body stigma builds up over time, and why it can be so hard to accept kindness or desire when you have spent years being told your body is a problem. We also get into queer desirability politics, the strange rules inside supposedly body-positive spaces, what it means to be the “right kind” of fat, how performance and public image complicate body confidence, and why respectful desire means letting go of the shame of loving fat bodies. And because this is Hide and Seek, it is not all neat affirmations and wellness language. Sometimes body positivity means self-love. Sometimes it means body acceptance. Sometimes it means finding your tribe, posting the lewds, wearing the jacket, singing the song, calling out the fatphobia, or simply saying: kiss my fat ass. For anyone who has been made to feel like they have to shrink before they are allowed to be beautiful, sexy, loved, booked, desired or seen: this one is for you. Bisexual, pansexual, fluid, queer, questioning, heteroflexible, homoflexible, multi-gender attracted — however people describe it, bi+ people have always been here. But when it comes to sexual health and HIV research, bi+ people have too often been folded into other groups, partially seen, or missed altogether. This week on Hide and Seek, Jon and Jonas are joined by Steve Spencer from NAPWHA and Bella Bushby from the Kirby Institute to talk about the Bi+ Sexual Health and HIV Study — or BiSHH — the first national survey of sex, health and relationships designed specifically for bi+ people in Australia. Steve first joined us back in 2023 when BiSHH was still being shaped. Now, the study has been completed, the data has landed, and the findings are big. More than 2,000 bi+ people across Australia shared their experiences of sex, relationships, healthcare, HIV, PrEP, U=U, stigma, sexual violence, community connection and what it means to feel properly seen in research. Bella takes us through why the study was needed, how community shaped the survey from the ground up, and what the findings reveal about the diversity of bi+ lives. Steve brings the community advocate lens, talking about bi+ erasure, HIV stigma, the need for services to stop assuming everyone fits neatly into gay or straight boxes, and why bi+ people need to be involved in designing the systems that are supposed to support them. Along the way, we talk about why “same-sex attracted” data is not enough, why asking the right questions matters, how stigma can compound across sexuality, gender, HIV status, disability, drug use, sex work and other experiences, and what sexual health services, HIV organisations, LGBTQIA+ spaces, policymakers and funders need to do next. What makes a queer male pin-up more than just a sexy photograph? In this episode, Jon and Joenas are joined by photographer and Boots and Suits creator Evan, along with Hide and Seek alum, Tim Little, who recently stepped in front of Evan’s camera for a featured spread. Together, they explore the visual language of queer male desire: boots, suits, harnesses, posture, gaze, body language and the coded imagery queer communities have used for generations. The conversation looks at how pin-up photography can communicate fantasy, masculinity, confidence, humour and belonging in ways that a standard fashion shoot or thirst trap may not. Evan shares the origins of Boots and Suits, the influences behind its distinctive Melbourne-made style, and why he chose to create a physical magazine in an increasingly digital world. He reflects on the lasting erotic power of boots, uniforms, tailoring and workwear, and on the importance of queer communities producing and preserving their own images. Tim takes listeners deep into his shoot, from his initial reaction and pre-shoot prep to the moment he began to relax into the experience. He discusses the vulnerability of being photographed, the emotional impact of seeing the finished images, and what it felt like to recognise himself as sexy, powerful and worthy of being looked at. The conversation ultimately asks what it means to be seen rather than merely ogled, how erotic photography can celebrate a person without reducing them, and why it can be so powerful to see ordinary, local queer people presented as desirable. It is a conversation about pin-ups, print, coded desire, body confidence and the queer power of stepping into the frame.
