LI_S02E72_FLOSS_in_porn_plus_movies
The subject of this episode is something that everybody does but only few talk about: elections. Well, not quite. :-) The subject is actually adult entertainment, also commonly known as "porn" (short for pornography). Such a delicate subject is, of course, treated with the required utmost sobriety and earnestness which the Inlaws are known for (yeah, right!). So if you have ever wondered but were too afraid to ask about the finer aspects of the FLOSS in the adult entertainment business, this is the show you don't want to miss. Plus: bonus content on the use of FLOSS in the general movie business (the focus groups insisted that this has to be part of the episode due to "political correctness" and other concepts hard to comprehend:-). And of course this episode would not be complete without the acknowledgment and celebration of Martin's favourite subject: Amish Porn Websites. So don't miss this episode! LI_S02E69_Breakmaster_Cylinder
This episode as part of our strange but wonderful series is host to one of the most elusive musicians not only in the podcast biz. Yes, we are speaking about none other than the mysterious Breakmaster Cylinder, also affectionately known as BmC. Who you may ask? If you have strayed and listened to other podcasts (shame on you BTW :-) like Darknet Diaries or the Changelog, you've already experienced some of his work. Sparing no expenses, Martin and Chris managed to get him on the show. Suffice it say, this is one of the most complex but still comprehensible shows (spoiler: BmC turns the tables has questions for our two hosts - what a ride it was). So without further ado, fasten your seatbelts, stop smoking (it's bad for you anyway) and enjoy the show! LI_S02E68_Missing_link
This episode - aptly named "Missing link" and part of our foundations series of our highly valued educational sub-Inlaws (a marketing term blatantly borrowed from Reddit when it was still relevant but conveniently always forgotten to give back) - dives deep into the innards of computer systems, networks and distributed applications. Discussing the communication mechanism these components use to be precisely to wrack havoc on innocent users, clients, servers and other shenanigans naively using these. So you've missed that all-important third-year operating and/or distributed systems class back in university, now's the chance to catch up on things. So that the next cocktail conversation doesn't have to be about the shortcomings of certain US presidents, open marriages, the weather and other strange phenomena including vampires turned priests in order to gain the upper hand on vegan blood wholesale empires (blatant teaser for an upcoming DSTS episode perhaps? :-).
