Описание
Where is home?
I’ve lived in different countries, spent six months travelling, and often chosen to stay somewhere long enough to experience what it actually feels like to live there.
I love the perspective that comes from being somewhere unfamiliar. You see different ways of living, question assumptions you didn't realise you had, and sometimes discover a different version of yourself.
But it has also made me wonder:
What actually makes somewhere feel like home?
In this episode, I explore:
Why I’ve always had a complicated relationship with home and restlessness
Whether leaving can sometimes be a form of curiosity rather than escape
What living in San Francisco taught me about feeling at home far from family
The strange experience of being physically somewhere while mentally somewhere else
“Home is where the heart is” — and what that might actually mean
When restlessness is useful information, and when it might simply be restlessness
Why presence might be part of what makes somewhere feel like home
How unfamiliar places can force us to build new relationships, routines and identities
Whether home is something we find or something we build
How our idea of home changes as our lives and seasons change
And ultimately, a question:
Where do you actually feel at home?
Not where you live.
Not where you were born.
Not where you're supposed to be.
But where do you feel present?
Where do you feel connected?
Where do you feel like you're actually inhabiting your own life?
Perhaps sometimes coming home means finding your way back to a place.
And perhaps sometimes it means learning how to arrive where you already are.
