A lot of modern end-times teaching runs on a single assumption: Jesus came to establish a political kingdom in Jerusalem, Israel rejected him, and God switched gears to a temporary “church age” until everything pivots back to national Israel. We don’t buy it, and we explain why that “Plan B” storyline doesn’t just tweak prophecy charts, it reshapes the gospel itself.
We walk through the dispensational timeline many listeners have heard (rapture, seven-year tribulation, earthly reign in Jerusalem) and ask the uncomfortable question it raises: are we really supposed to expect a rebuilt third temple with renewed sacrifices, and then believe the resurrected Christ embraces it? We argue that excitement over a future temple often forgets what the New Testament insists on: Christ is the fulfillment the temple pointed to, and returning to shadows is not spiritual progress.
Then we anchor the conversation where it belongs: Paul’s own words. In Acts 28, Paul ties “the hope of Israel” to the resurrection of the dead and insists he preaches nothing beyond Moses and the Prophets. The real dispute isn’t whether prophecy is inspired, but what it means and where it finds fulfillment. We connect that apostolic reading to the one people of God, where believing Jews and believing Gentiles are gathered into one body by faith.
We close in Hebrews 11 with Abraham’s strange detail: he lived in the land yet called himself a stranger, looking for a city God builds. That turns “promised land” into a signpost toward a better, heavenly country and an inheritance that expands in Christ to the everlasting new creation. If this challenged your assumptions, subscribe, share the episode, and leave a review with the biggest question you’re still wrestling with.
