Steve Hilton's Closing Argument
The Shang-Tao trial is heating up, and we've got the latest update on the corruption case involving former Oakland Mayor Shane Tao. But first, let's talk about the upcoming California gubernatorial election, where we're stuck with two unappealing options. The insurance commissioner's race is also on the ballot, with two candidates vying for the position. Both promise not to accept campaign contributions from the insurance industry, but it's unclear if they'll actually follow through. This episode, we dive into the Shang-Tao trial, where a key witness, Mario Juarez's ex-girlfriend, testified about secret recordings capturing discussions about money and alleged city deals. The government alleges the Duongs conspired with the Shangis and others to bribe officials and secure city contracts. We also discuss the California gubernatorial election, where the speaker shares his thoughts on the two candidates running for office. He emphasizes the importance of having a check on the one-party rule in California and the need for balance in the state government. The speaker also talks about his own campaign, highlighting his plans to clean up the homeless encampments, end mass homelessness, and create homeless recovery centers. Xavier Becerra's SHOCKING Plan to Tax Californians Even More!
This episode of the John Phillips Show is a must-listen for anyone interested in California politics. The conversation with gubernatorial candidate Javier Becerra is a masterclass in dodging tough questions and revealing a lack of substance. The speaker's responses are peppered with phrases like "I don't know" and "we'll have to see," leaving listeners wondering what exactly they're getting themselves into if this candidate is elected. In this 10-minute interview with Ashley Zavala, Becerra fails to provide clear answers on key issues like the state's COVID-19 unemployment loan, which has left businesses footing the bill, and the proposed vehicle miles traveled fee, which would tax drivers for every mile they travel. He also dodges questions about his stance on the death penalty and his plans to address the state's affordability crisis. Meanwhile, the speaker's lack of transparency on the high-speed rail project and the new California capital annex is concerning, to say the least. Becerra's responses are often vague and lack concrete solutions, leaving listeners feeling like they're getting a glimpse into a politician who's more interested in spinning words than actually addressing the state's problems. The conversation is a sobering reminder that California voters need to be informed and engaged in the upcoming election. If you want to stay ahead of the curve and make informed decisions about the future of California, tune in to this episode of the John Phillips Show to hear the full conversation with Javier Becerra. Don't miss out on the opportunity to hear the tough questions and lackluster responses that will leave you wondering what's really at stake in this election. John Thomas Previews The Election
The California Chaos Continues This episode of the John Phillips Show is a must-listen for anyone interested in California politics. The state is facing a multitude of issues, from rising crime rates and homelessness to a struggling economy and high taxes. John Phillips is joined by John Thomas, a Republican political strategist, to break down the latest news and polls. They discuss the Alaska Senate race, where a Democratic candidate was accused of trying to deceive voters by placing a fake candidate on the ballot. This move could potentially tip the balance in the Republicans' favor, but it's not the only issue on the table. The conversation also touches on the California governor's race, where Steve Hilton is trailing behind Javier Becerra by a significant margin. The lack of enthusiasm from Becerra's campaign and the media's lack of scrutiny have contributed to this outcome. The hosts also discuss the upcoming election night broadcast, where they'll be providing live coverage of the results. The episode also delves into the San Francisco congressional race, where Scott Wiener and Connie Chan are vying for the seat. Chan has received the endorsement of former Speaker Nancy Pelosi, but it seems that this may not be enough to secure her victory.
