Ep. 96 - Cobbling Together a 3Q3D Comeback

HOBBIES / PASSION PROJECTS / SIDE HUSTLES! After an unintentional hiatus, Amanda, Chris and Matt finally reunite to wonder why we let our favorite hobbies and creative side passions (like, ahem, an erstwhile podcast for inquisitive people) slip away into the black hole of busy calendars and mindless doomscrolling. Over three pretty good drinks, the trio unpacks how we can reclaim the passions that bring us real joy, the abandoned hobbies we ought to resurrect, and the pursuits that most reflect our true selves.    DRINKS IN THIS EPISODE: SCOTCH & SODA >> 2 oz blended Scotch whiskey; 4 oz chilled club soda or sparkling water. Fill a highball glass with ice, pour in the 2 ounces of Scotch and top with chilled club soda. Stir briefly and gently to mix without losing the bubbles. Enjoy while reading a book out loud to your grandchildren. BLACKBERRY PALOMA >> 2 oz blanco tequila; 3 oz sparkling grapefruit soda (or grapefruit juice plus club soda); 4 fresh blackberries (plus more for garnish); 1 oz freshly squeezed lime juice; 1/2 oz simple syrup; salt for the glass rim. Muddle  blackberries with 1/2 oz simple syrup and 1 oz lime juice in a glass. Add tequila and ice, then top with 3 oz sparkling grapefruit soda. Stir gently and garnish with extra berries and a lime wheel. Enjoy while partaking in a favorite hobby, such as cobbling shoes. DORCHESTER COCKTAIL >> 1 1/2 oz gin; 1/2 oz Luxardo maraschino liqueur; 3/4 oz lime juice, freshly squeezed; 1/2 oz grapefruit juice, freshly squeezed; 1/2 oz simple syrup. Add all ingredients into a shaker with ice and shake until well-chilled.
