We Fix Space Junk

Battle Bird Productions

Подробно

'We Fix Space Junk' follows seasoned smuggler Kilner and reluctant fugitive Samantha as they travel the galaxy, dodging bullets and meeting strange and wonderful beings as they carry out odd jobs on the fringes of the law. A female-led sci-fi comedy sitcom set in the far future, in a high-tech, dystopian world, We Fix Space Junk draws on the sci-fi of the past, following in the footsteps of Harry Harrison and of Douglas Adams' Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. Equal parts love-letter to sci-fi and satire of the present-day, Space Junk is lovingly produced by Beth Crane and Hedley Knights of Battle Bird Productions. Introducing... Jack Valentine, Vampire Detective
Hello! Before I introduce you to my dear friend Jack, a quick reminder that if you’re about on September 6th we’re doing a live show at the London Podcast Festival as part of Audio Drama Day! We’re on at 2:30 and tickets are just £16! This may well be our last live show - and will definitely be our last one for a long while - so if you want to see us on stage, now’s the time! And now, on to Jack! So while we were working on season 4 we were also, behind the scenes, working on a whole new show. Introducing: Jack Valentine, Vampire Detective, by Josie Jaffrey. A prequel to her Jack Valentine book series, Jack Valentine Vampire Detective follows Jack Valentine, a detective with the Seekers, a vampire police force operating in Oxford, as she deals with a series of grisly murders that seem a little too familiar… It’s directed by Jen Sugden of Victoriocity and recorded, sound designed and mastered by us here at Battle Bird Productions, with a theme tune by the one and only Hedley Knights. It features Grace Kelly Miller from No Small Rolls as Jack alongside a whole host of other voices, some new and some you’ll definitely recognise. It’s available on all podcatchers and there are five episodes ready for you to sink your teeth into! Listen on for episode one: Dead Man’s Hand! Content Warnings: Murder Death Violence Description of corpses Forensic Investigation Blood Drinking Alcohol Use Drugging Mentions of Adultery Learn more about your ad choices. A Couple of Quick Announcements... (Including Live Show!)
Hello! We hope you enjoyed listening to Season 4 (or as some of the cool kids are calling it, Season 7). It was a real labour of love and we're so glad it's finally out in the world. We're here with a couple of quick announcements! First, we're going to be doing a live show! We're back at London Podcast Festival for Audio Drama Day on the 6th September at 2:30pm. We're in a bigger venue than usual which is a little daunting, but we're looking forward to it! We'll have our core cast plus some special guests, including the wonderful Layla Katib from Victoriocity! Other shows that day include An Audience with Magenta and Bernard, Camlaan, Audio Drama Done Quick and Headliners Wooden Overcoats, so a chance to see a whole host of Audio Drama Royalty! Tickets for our show are just £16 and we'll be about afterwards with merch, so come say hi! You can find a link for tickets in the show notes! The second thing is that we're going to be taking a formal break from We Fix Space Junk now Season 4 is out. The reason it took so long to bring Season 4 out in the first place was because we're both incredibly burnt out and we need time and space to recover. We've been working on Space Junk alongside full-time work for the last eight years - and even when we've not been actively working, it's still been lurking at the top of our to-do piles and was never far from our thoughts. And that can take a bit of a toll. The thing about burnout is that it sucks all the joy out of the things you love doing, and we don't want Space Junk to become something we resent. We deserve time and space away from the show and you deserve a show made by people working at their best. So We Fix Space Junk is going to go on formal hiatus for a year. I'm going to start working on scripts for Season 5 in July next year with a refreshed brain, fresh ideas and the enthusiasm to make the next season of a show we love. In the mean time, we're going to be working on some other creative projects, so keep your eyes out for those. So, we hope to see some of you in September at our live show and for the rest - Kilner and Samantha will be back!
