As the rest of the country was settling in and finalizing holiday meals, a man in his mid forties with unremarkable features, yet a quiet and steady demeanor walks through the Portland International Airport. It’s Thanksgiving Eve, Nov 24th, 1971. He approaches the ticket agent at Northwest Orient Airlines and requests to purchase a one- way ticket to Seattle aboard flight 305- a mere 25 minute journey in the air.  The Boeing 727 holds the man, and 36 other passengers. He is kindly served a bourbon and soda, but before settling in for the rest of the flight, he brings a briefcase to his lap and calls over to the stewardess once again. What she witnesses next, will change not only the course of the flight, but her life, for everyone on board is about to become involved in the most notorious unsolved flight- hijacking in American history. Her eyes glance into the man’s case and widen as she realizes what she is seeing- a bomb.  This is the case of America's largest unsolved skyjacking and the man who to this day is still unidentified.
