Fallacious Trump

Jim & Mark

Detaylar

Jim and Mark use the insane ramblings of a tiny-handed narcissist to explain logical fallacies. Each episode we focus on a single logical fallacy and, using examples from Trump, UK politics and pop culture, explore how and why it fools people, how to avoid committing it yourself, and how to counter it in an argument.

False Uniqueness
You can also see the VIDEO VERSION of this episode, by going to https://fallacioustrump.com/ft200! In the two hundredth (!) episode, we look at False Uniqueness, starting with Trump touting his understanding of "the system", and lying while explaining his dementia test - again. In Mark's British Politics Corner, we look at Nigel Farage playing the victim, and Rishi Sunak repeatedly writing checks his electoral potential couldn't cash. In the Fallacy in the Wild section, we check out examples from Beauty and the Beast, Futurama, Brooklyn Nine Nine, and psychologist Ola Svenson. Jim and Mark go head-to-head in a special game of Fake News, in which Mark has to guess which three of nine Trump NFTs were made by Jim. Then Jim talks to Pam Pearson from VoteRiders, a fantastic organization that helps people get the ID they need to vote in their state. You can check what the ID requirements are in your state at VoteRiders.org, and if you need any help, or are worried you might not have the ID you need, call their helpline on 866-ID-2-VOTE. That's 866-432-8683. If you'd like to consider volunteering with VoteRiders, or donating to help them continue their important work, just go to their website. And finally, we round up some of the other crazy Trump stories from the past week.
