Whoopsie Daisy, You Are Not The Judge

Contempt feels powerful for a moment, but it corrodes everything it touches, your relationships, your body, your faith. Today we sit with Romans 14 and hear a simple, disruptive command: accept each other and stop arguing about who is right. We talk about why a rule-heavy spirituality can actually be a sign of weak faith, and how the Holy Spirit grows something sturdier in us: self-control, responsibility, and love that does no harm.  We also reframe the Ten Commandments as neighbor protection, not self-defense, as if God is saying, “I love your neighbor and I want them safe from you.” From food debates to holy days to everyday annoyances, we explore what it looks like to build a bigger table where people can belong without being managed. Instead of condemnation, we practice blessing, including a prayer we return to again and again: may they find themselves in the presence of Jesus. And we make it personal, because no condemnation means other people and it means us too.  The conversation opens into kingdom living that is not about what we eat or drink, but about goodness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit. We connect generosity to 2 Corinthians 9, remember that worship must turn into justice, and step toward communion as an embodied act where everyone is invited, even Judas. Then we end with one question that can reshape a whole week: if Jesus lived your day for you, would anyone notice a difference?
